Beverly Hospital/Addison Gilbert Hosptial

Beverly Hospital is a community hospital with an active Emergency Department, 14-bed Critical Care Unit, a Level II Special Care Nursery, and five med/surg units including pediatrics.

In the Emergency Department, we provide all modes of respiratory care including mechanical ventilation, intubation assists, aerosol medications, and arterial blood gas sampling.

Respiratory works side by side with the Intensivists in the Critical Care Unit 24/7, where we have protocols for both invasive and non-invasive ventilation, and the staff are strongly encouraged to work independently as well as part of the care team.

We provide Bubble CPAP and short-term mechanical ventilation in the Special Care Nursery and Respiratory Therapists provide all modes of therapy on the med/surg units.  These include aerosolized medication delivery, bronchial hygiene therapy, and blood gas analysis.

Addison Gilbert Hospital is also a community hospital with an active Emergency Department, four-bed ICU, and one inpatient med/surg floor. Respiratory provides all forms of therapy throughout the facility as they do at Beverly Hospital.  The inpatients are adult-only, but we do see pediatric patients in the Emergency Department.

Beverly Hospital and Addison Gilbert Hospital are located on the North Shore of Boston and surrounded by local beaches, many restaurants offering fresh, locally grown vegetables, and fresh off the boat seafood.  The respiratory staff is a close community of their own and due to the department size are able to form strong bonds and friendships outside the work environment.  We offer free on-site parking (car to door in < than 2 minutes),  free CEU opportunities through the Lilly Lutz Foundation allow you to attend all-expense-paid national conferences such as the AARC annual event, and recognition awards for a "job well done"!
